Minnesota One of America’s Best Places to Raise Kids Partially Due to the Arts

• Minnesota is the best state in the country in which to raise children according to the 2004 Kids Count report.
• Minneapolis was rated the third best city for families by Child Magazine in 2004. Child Magazine ranked the Twin Cities third in their list of “Top 10 Best Cities to Raise Kids,” partially on the strength of the availability of arts programming and museums. The editors say the area “squeezes in more theater seats per capita than any other city in the country besides the Big Apple.” (3/01).
• Time Magazine rated Minneapolis’ Children’s Theatre as the best kid’s troupe in the country in 2004.
